Sgroppino

Here is a playful, fun cocktail that is as easy as 1, 2, 3 and delicious as a sunny summer day. The Sgroppino cocktail comes to us from Venice, Italy and is offered as a digestivo to enjoy after dinner though we like it equally as an afternoon brunch pick-me-up. This combination of three simple ingredients is incredibly refreshing and not only can serve as a digestif, but can double as dessert. The key to success in making a Sgroppino is to make sure each ingredient is very cold to start including the glass mixing bowl and glassware. The recipe below is for a single serving but once you try it, you can multiply the measures to share with your friends. Salute!

Sgroppino

In a small chilled glass bowl add:

• 1 Ounce of Chilled Vodka (preferably from the freezer)
• 1 Generous Scoop of Lemon Sorbet (Only Sorbet NOT Sherbet!)
• 2 Ounces of Chilled Prosecco

Whisk together with a wire whisk until creamy smooth.  Funnel into a chilled Champagne saucer or small wine glass.  Garnish with a mint leaf.
