Passion Fruit Martini

If you're looking for a cocktail to share with the one you love this week for Valentine’s Day, we have the drink for you!  Passion fruit has been touted as having aphrodisiac powers and while there is no real proof of that, we love using it in cocktails for its wonderful sweet-tart flavor and beautiful aromas.  Find a nice ripe Passion fruit at your local grocer and slice it up into small chunks for muddling.  The Passion Fruit Martini is subtly sweet, with a mouth-watering tartness.  One will set the mood, two will lead to passion and three, well three may just be one too many for Passion.  Cheers!

Passion Fruit Martini

In a cocktail shaker glass add:

• 2 Tablespoons Fresh Passion Fruit Pulp
• ½ Ounce Simple Syrup

Muddle the two together well then add:

• 2 Ounces Vodka
• ½ Ounce Triple Sec
• ¼ Ounce Fresh Squeezed Lemon Juice

Top with ice and shake till painfully cold.  Strain into a chilled Martini glass.  Garnish with a slice of passion fruit.
